The timeline below gives a brief overview of the history behind ATF Supplies and how we were established, as well as some of the significant events which have occurred over the years.

  • 1900's - The Andover Timber Company

    The Andover Timber Company, founded in the early 1900's, was where our roots in the timber industry started. After more than 30 years the Andover Timber Company was eventually sold in the 1970's. The founding family continued to live off the family farm for some years before a new venture was born.

  • 1940 - The Family Farm

    The founding family has links in farming going back to the mid 1940’s, with land being acquired around the Andover area for the arable, dairy and beef enterprise. Dairy farming was given up in the mid 60’s, making way mainly for the arable enterprise which continued until 2000.

  • 1982 -  Abbotts Tree Nursery

    Diversification became a key word in the late 1980’s, and so with this in mind a tree nursery was set up called Abbotts Trees. The nursery was named after the village of Abbotts Ann where the family farm was based. After a while, sundry products (including fencing) were added, and renamed Abbotts Trees & Fencing.  The nursery was given up in the 1990’s to focus more on the fencing and landscaping materials.

  • 1995 -  ATF Supplies is born

    ATF Supplies is simply an abbreviation of Abbotts Trees and Fencing, as by now we were no longer selling trees, but a whole host of sundries. By 1995, it became apparent that the family farm was no longer able to sustain the needs of the four families involved in the running and managing of the farm and the farm was finally given up in 2000 after having been in the family for around fifty years and two generations. ATF Supplies was thus born, based in Abbotts Ann, selling the wide range of products to the fencing, agricultural, horticultural, forestry, landscape and construction related industries it is still serving today.

  • 1999 - All Change at ATF Supplies

    By 1999, ATF Supplies had outgrown the confines of the farm on which the firm was established, and it was necessary to move premises on a larger site with more storage area and greater facilities. The move occurred in early 1999 and ATF Supplies relocated their premises to a yard just outside Andover on Foxcotte Lane in Charlton.

  • Today - ATF Supplies

    Today, ATF Supplies are now in new premises on the Walworth Business Park, a move which has greatly helped the company forward due to better logistics and more convenient storage space. As ever, ATF Supplies continue to build on the experience we have gained through years in the timber industry, where we believe that every customer deserves the best, and do our utmost in providing you with an experience which is better than the rest!
